All rooms have a fireplace and a private deck to maximise the panoramas, whilst a spa specialises in herbal and botanical treatments. The River Ranch centre offers two swimming pools, tennis and fitness, whilst a third pool and the Aiyana Spa can be found at the main Lodge. Recreations include golf at the 18-hole Carmel Valley Ranch championship course winding through the core of the resort, guided horse-riding trails through meadows and hills to discovering local nature and flora on the many Ranch Trails. Younger guests will entertained at the Ranch Hands Kids Camp. Dine on fresh ingredients at the Valley Kitchen or enjoy a more relaxed, casual, outdoor dining experience at the River Ranch.

Summer in California is hot and dry with cool evenings, whilst winter tends to be milder with a little rain between January and March. Winters in San Francisco can be chilly and foggy, whilst Los Angeles can be smoggy in the summer months. On Lake Tahoe, expect cold and snowy winters, and although summer days can be warm, the evenings can still be chilly. To guarantee the best prices for your luxury family holiday, we recommend booking at least a year in advance for the following summer holidays.
