The world’s first tea bungalow resort, a break at Ceylon Tea Trails means a stay in one of five colonial homes. Built in the days of the British Raj, each offers suites that open directly onto the flower filled gardens, and feature wide verandas, elegant bathrooms with freestanding baths, four-poster beds, open fires and crisp, white linens.
With a butler on hand to serve and draw your bath, enticing meals of western fare, traditional Sri Lankan cuisine and tea inspired dishes made to order, there’s a real sense of staying in an elegant private home. Here, pursuits range from tea factory visits and tastings, to mountain walks and mountain biking throughout the rich Ceylon tea gardens.

Low season for Sri Lanka is generally between the months of May to July, high season runs from December to March. Prices are based on 2 sharing (unless otherwise indicated) with some including return economy flights from London. Regional departures, child prices and single supplements are available on request. The best time to visit is generally from November to March when the weather is hot and at its driest, however the ancient cities are best visited from April to September. August is also a popular time to visit, and those travelling during the summer months will benefit from good hotel offers.
