The lodge is run with terrific attention to detail by owners Ben and Vanessa Parker who have given each of the accommodations a different feel with objets d’art from all over Africa. Each house is unique, some with beautiful plunge pools; The Dog House is spread over three decks and the secluded Tree House set in branches of ebony trees. Dine by the river on your expansive deck, enjoy a private lunch or sundowners on a sandbar or venture a little further to a sampan anchored in the Zambezi, attended by waiters who deliver each course by canoe. An almost endless list of activities includes game drives in an open vehicle, guided bush walks, canoeing and tranquil boat trips at sunrise or sunset. A visit to Livingstone Island is highly recommended.
Price is per person per night on a fully inclusive basis and includes a sunrise and sunset boat trip on the Zambezi, guided canoeing excursion, lunch on a local island with a guided walk, fishing, visit to Victoria Falls, game drives to Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, a walk in the gorge below the Falls, cultural visit to the museum, mountain bike trails to a local village and a shopping trip. Our pricing aims to give an indication of the price range from low to high season. Low season for Zambia is generally between the months of December to May, high season runs from July to October. Supplements may apply to peak periods such as Christmas and Easter. Prices are per person per night based on 2 sharing. Regional departures and single supplements are available on request. The best time to visit Victoria Falls is between April and October with warm days and cool nights – the falls are at their most dramatic from March to May, though the sheer volume of water can create so much mist that the views can be obscured and Livingstone Island may be closed. Water levels are lower from August to January. Visit Zambia’s game reserves in the dry winter months between May and October when the days are clear and warm – October can be very hot. Some camps close during the wetter summer months of December to March.
