Viceroy eschews formal hotel convention to maintain a natural harmony with the primitive Maya tropical forest home to families of spider monkeys. Tropical walkways lead to the forty one thatched palapa roofed private villas crafted with natural materials throughout, each with a private patio, plunge pool, crochet hammock, outdoor shower and butler service.
Dine al fresco at the casual Coral Grill & Bar where the menu showcases locally caught seafood and homemade pizzas baked in the wood fired oven; the romantic setting of La Mare features contemporary Mexican cuisine with Mediterranean influences. Oenophiles will love the wine cellar’s 500 bottles from around the world, whilst spirit fans can learn the secrets of tequila from a maestro tequilero in a ceviche and tequila tasting lesson.
Lounge by the refreshing swimming pool or succumb to the ancient Mayan therapies at The Spa at Viceroy Rivera Maya, where you can try the Temezcal, a mystical sweat lodge ritual that is both therapeutic and cleansing. Guests are welcome to stay all-inclusive for part of their holiday, whilst enjoying the many fine dining experiences on offer nearby for the remainder.
