Turkey / D-Resort Göcek

Backed by mountains and just a short walk from a private beach, the resort lies in a quaint former fishing village that has become a smart yachting centre whilst retaining its traditional Turkish charm.

Premier Suites, some with direct pool access, come complete with separate bedroom and living room; rooms are decked out in tranquil Mediterranean tones, with marble bathrooms and Molton Brown amenities. The eclectic menus of the Q Lounge include Izakaya-style modern Japanese specialities to the accompaniment of relaxing DJ selections and exquisite cocktails, while Olives Restaurant serves classic light dishes on the terrace. For the freshest local fish and succulent steaks head for D’Breeze, aptly named for the cooling breezes which blow onto the seafront.

Get around on the hotel’s complimentary bikes or golf buggies, rent the hotel’s luxury speed boat, or simply unwind in the spa where therapies focus on stress relief and health optimisation. Top class facilities encompass a Turkish hammam, Zen garden and vitality pool.

When to visit Turkey

Turkey is a vast country that incorporates both a Mediterranean and continental climate, the temperatures in the north being cooler than the south. For sightseeing and visits to Istanbul, spring and autumn are recommended to avoid the peak summer temperatures. November to February can be cool with increased rainfall. Southern Turkey has a Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers and mild winters, July and August being the hottest months. Spring and autumn are good times to visit as it is still warm and less crowded.
