Botswana / Chobe Game Lodge

Guests at Chobe Game Lodge talk of being welcomed like a member of the family, an impression enhanced by the warm ambience of the rooms, all of which face the Chobe River.

As the only permanent Lodge in the Chobe National Park it offers the chance to unwind in air conditioned, en-suite comfort after a day’s unparalleled game viewing. African carvings and paintings enrich the décor, alongside hand-crafted Rhodesian teak furniture. Interleading rooms are ideal for families and groups of friends, the luxury family suites and honeymoon suite having a private terrace with plunge pool, dining area and lounge.

Dine in the riverside boma or on the astonishing Chobe boardwalk and deck, offering arguably the best vantage point in the whole of the Park. Sip sundowners on the Far Deck (Chobe Deck of Fame) as you watch the parade of animals heading for the river, or join thrilling game drives led by an all-female guiding team. Take a sunset cruise on the river, where during the dry season, large herds of elephant and buffalo gather.

When to visit Botswana

The best time to visit Botswana for game viewing in the delta areas is during the dry winter season from April to October when animals are drawn to water sources. Days are warm and sunny although nights can drop below freezing – in October temperatures can be particularly hot. The Okavango area tends to be more moderate than the Kalahari where seasonal differences are more extreme and activities vary according to wet (November – March) and dry (April – October) seasons.
