Set amongst luscious manicured lawns, Rosewood Miramar Beach is the most recent addition to the celebrity-inhabited coast of Montecito, yet already feels like an icon. The place to both see and be seen, the grand estate comprises a luxurious Manor House, white clapboard garden cottage bungalows and plush beachfront suites.
Here, décor is super-chic and ‘50s inspired; reminiscent of an era filled with sheer glamour and a carefully curated sense of style. Service, too, reflects this much-loved period – it’s attentive and entirely personal from an elegant and discreet team. We love the playful touches like the Fiat Jolly – a candy-coloured jaunty open-air beach mobile that chauffeurs guests into town.

Beyond the two pools, Sense® Spa and seven restaurants, bars and ice cream shop, there are Gwyneth Paltrow-approved essentials at a Goop sundries shop and California-inspired concept store The Gatehouse by designer James Perse. Days start with sunrise yoga or bonding at the bocce court, and lead onto private winery tours and ocean adventures further afield.

Summer in California is hot and dry with cool evenings, whilst winter tends to be milder with a little rain between January and March. Winters in San Francisco can be chilly and foggy, whilst Los Angeles can be smoggy in the summer months. On Lake Tahoe, expect cold and snowy winters, and although summer days can be warm, the evenings can still be chilly. To guarantee the best prices for your luxury family holiday, we recommend booking at least a year in advance for the following summer holidays.
