Nordic chic meets Alpine hospitality in high altitude Val Thorens. Log fires and fur throws meld with rich fabrics in energising shades, bathrooms mineral inspired. Families will appreciate the interconnecting rooms and split-level suites which include a separate sleeping cabin for two children. High tech wizardry abounds, each suite having bluetooth speakers plus Mac Mini TVs which allow guests to watch free films and stay in touch via Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. Culinary delights range from rotisserie to Asian at 2.MILLE.3, while La Laiterie serves enticing fondues and Les Enfants Terribles provides mountain-style brasserie fare. A vast sun-drenched south facing terrace bar is the place to relive the day’s adventures. Boasting ski-in, ski-out convenience the hotel has its own Extreme Sports Concierge offering ice driving, paragliding and glacier hiking. The ski shop is run by Olympic medallists the Goitschel sisters; a much-lauded spa has indoor-outdoor swimming pool, hammam, igloo, tepidarium and waterfall showers.

Low season is generally from the start of the ski season to mid-December and towards the end of the ski season in April, high season tends to be mid-January to mid-February and mid-March to early April. Peak season is over the Festive period and at February half term. Prices are based on two sharing (unless otherwise stated) and include return economy flights from London. The high altitude of the ski area, along with the regular, ongoing investments in cultured snow production means The Three Valleys area is able to guarantee snow cover from the beginning of December until the end of April across the entire ski area.

The best time to visit The Three Valleys is in the winter months. Take advantage of savings on lift passes and empty slopes before the Christmas rush. The festive season makes for a magical winter holiday and an unforgettable Christmas and New Year, whilst January offers quiet slopes, perfect snow conditions and great offers on luxury chalets. The Three Valleys snow report suggests the deepest average snow levels coincide with February half term, making this the perfect time to for your winter family holiday. Longer days in March and April offer plenty of spring sunshine; enjoy lunch or après-ski on one of the Three Valleys' many sun terraces.
