Dubai / Bvlgari Resort Dubai

This low-slung designer haven is the antidote to the clamour of Dubai’s  high-rise cityscape and offers the seasoned traveller a dash of Italian flair in the heart of the lively Arabian metropolis.

Upon its own seahorse-shaped private island resembling the silhouette of a piece of Bvlgari jewellery, sits a coral-like façade with the twinkling Dubai skyline on display to one side and uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf to the other. Access is via a bridge from the mainland, just a short drive from downtown Dubai and a stone’s throw from world-famous Jumeirah Beach.

As you would expect from any venture by this lavish brand, Bvlgari more than delivers on meticulously designed details and exquisite craftsmanship. The focus here is on decadent designer furnishings, rare materials that embellish inside and out and vintage Bvlgari exhibits. There are triumphant Italian touches throughout: spaces bedecked in Tivoli travertine marble and Vicenza stone; rich Italian fare by three Michelin-starred Chef Niko Romito; sweet pastries and strong coffee served overlooking the marina; aperitivo at sunset and even the chance to jump in one of the hotel’s fleet of Maserati for day trips exploring old Dubai or neighbouring capital Abu Dhabi.

Travel notes:

  • 101 rooms and suites; 20 private villas
  • Home to the world’s first Bvlgari Yacht Club & Marina
  • The secret Japanese-inspired Hoseki restaurant has just 9 seats and no menu; pre-booking is essential
  • On-site boutiques include a concept store and chocolate boutique Il Cioccolato, as well as the signature Bvlgari jewellery, watches, accessories and fragrances
