Set in a chocolate box landscape of forests and frozen lakes, Arosa offers doorstep access to 225km of intermediate-friendly skiing alongside a laid back traditional Swiss ambience and a friendly welcome. Amidst pine-clad slopes and saw-toothed peaks, Arosa comprises Ausser-Arosa and Inner-Arosa, the latter offering an attractive mix of ski-in, ski-out hotels and traditional Alpine chalets. Aside from scores of winter sports and laid-back après-ski, the village’s gastronomic scene is top class, from inviting stuben to steakhouses. Set at a lofty height of 1800m, doorstep access to Arosa’s 70km of high, snow-sure skiing is complemented by 155km of skiing in nearby Lenzerheide, connected since 2014 by a state-of-the-art cable car to create one of the biggest ski areas in Switzerland. While experienced skiers will find numerous challenges offered by two snow parks and the World Cup piste, its beginners and intermediates who will really feel at home here. Beginners have easy snow-sure slopes to learn on and a good snow kindergarten while intermediates can explore the sizeable network of blue and red runs that comprise 88% of the ski area.
