Tanzania / Elewana's The Manor at Ngorongoro

Deep within the Shangri-La coffee estate, adjacent to the famed Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Manor is reminiscent of an elegant Cape Dutch style farmhouse.

Eighteen Manor Cottage Suites feature an open fire place, bath tub, rain shower, courtyard and observation deck, while families will appreciate spacious and richly furnished allure of Stable Cottage, located away from the main house at the rear of the riding stables. A downstairs family lounge area is complemented by a second floor children’s realm complete with kids’ twin bedroom, toddler’s bathroom and TV playroom. Fine dining is accompanied by wines from the private cellar; a billiard room, delightful spa and swimming pool offer further opportunities to relax. A wealth of activities include full day game drives to the Ngorongoro Crater to spot the Big 5, large populations of spotted hyena and, on occasion, species such as leopard and giraffe. Go horse-riding or cycling on the coffee estate, join a coffee processing tour or an excursion to a local Masai market.

More about our prices

When is the best time to visit Tanzania?

Tanzania’s dry season is from June to October, with the short rains expected in November/December and the long rains from March to May. The migration follows the rains in a clockwise route through the Serengeti – from January to March the herds are mainly in the grassy south, calving in February before migrating north from April, traversing the Western Corridor and Grumeti Reserve throughout May, June and July, heading towards Kenya and the northern Serengeti. They return south again from November.
