Maldives / Four Seasons Voavah Private Island

Luxury moves up a level in the Maldives with the recent opening of this hedonistic playground in the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve.

Reached by speedboat from Landaa Giraavaru, the five-acre resort is surrounded by unspoilt UNESCO ocean territory, a tropical paradise brimming with corals and marine wildlife. Within this idyllic setting, Four Seasons have created an uber-luxe, exclusive use private hideaway with one single monitored entry point to ensure absolute privacy for up to 22 guests who can relax into full board living where no-one is watching and anything is possible.

Accommodation consists of of a three-bedroom beach villa and two-bedroom overwater villa, with additional mezzanine suites and rooms for children. Interiors are the epitome of unpretentious chic, rich in antique touches and local artefacts, the colour schemes muted and relaxing. Dining is as a laid-back or as smart as you choose, with a choice of indoor and alfresco venues where menus are fashioned to your mood, from Mediterranean and Japanese through to Middle Eastern or authentic Maldivian.

Blissful recreation begins with a voyage of discovery aboard the 62ft Voavah Summer, the resort’s private luxury yacht, visiting manta hotspots and secluded sandbanks in the company of a marine biologist and dive instructor. There are castaway picnics for the romantically minded and a zillion activities for kids who can snorkel with the rays, swim with the turtles and try their hand at hermit crab racing. Closer to home, the double-storey beach house houses a library, gym, guest kitchen and pool deck.

More about our prices

When is the best time to visit Maldives?

The Maldives has a hot, tropical climate with sunshine all year round. The most popular months to visit are between November and April during the north-east monsoon when it is dry with very little wind. Whilst there may be rain during some of the summer months, with ever-changing weather patterns and excellent offers, this is becoming an increasingly popular time to travel.
